Jussi “Dance Plague” Kirkkopelto’s free Birthday swing and blues dance party was held with two live bands on Saturday 27.9.2025 18.00-01.00 at Black Pepper Swing premises, Karjalankatu 2, 4th floor, Helsinki, Finland.
Wow, what a night. Some many smiles, dances, hugs, nice words and tears. Thanks for coming and making a great party and you had such nice surprises for me. I didn’t have a clue. Even from Out of the Blues except very last minute. Big thanks for them and The Shangri-La Showgirls without forgetting our great bands. Please book Tanssiorkesteri Humu and Little Willie Mehto for your own events and parties. I need hear more swing, jazz and blues.
Everything went smoothly and I always had helping hands, when I felt myself busy elsewhere. Special thanks for self-organizing DJs, party survivors (end cleaners) and Black Pepper Swing.
I have always so much text here, but just few five things left…
1. Share your photos and videos. My suggestion is that share them all, not just the best shot. There can be some small things or music that is interesting for somebody. New Google Photos link provided in email and WhatsApp, but old Google Drive link works too.
2. Please give feedback about the party organizing itself. It was not commercial event, but I need to know what went well and what could be improved for the future event. And for the record, gathering feedback and learning is regular cycle of my work role.

3. Finalize you donations. I don’t track those (and there were open gift box so I even can’t do it) but my target was to get even with the costs.

4. Join Tuesday Night Hop party. I will probably enter late to be dancing birthday jam, but continue with my first DJ set ever by playing the songs we heard versions from Tanssiorkesteri Humu. So called fast rewind to the party. Pikauusinta.

5. I have another 50yo party coming next Saturday 4.10.2025, but there will not be swing/blues dancing. My cover band plays rock/funk/pop, people sip cocktails and sing karaoke. And it is overlapping with BPS Saturday Party, which I don’t want to cannibalize too much. Anyway if you are interested, ask me or find it from Facebook.

Video and photographing at the event is even recommended. Photos and videos should be shared for all party guests after the party. If you don’t want photos of you to be posted anywhere, please bring and wear any visible lanyard (avainnauha) of you choice on your neck.
Code of conduct 🇬🇧 in English and 🇫🇮 in Finnish is followed in the event.
Organizer is Jussi Kirkkopelto as private person. Black Pepper Swing is not the organizer of the event, but it provides the spaces, some tools and decorations for the event.
